Jonathan Fields, a drummer based in Cleveland, OH, is known for his colorful and innovative sound. Born in Zanesville, OH, Jonathan’s passion for music was sparked in church. As a child, he would practice by playing on pews, couches, and any pots and pans he could find until his parents recognized his relentless dedication and gifted him his first full sized drum set.

While studying legendary drummers such as Marvin McQuitty, Dennis Chambers, Teddy Campbell, and his hometown heroes, Jonathan developed a unique and dynamic style of playing. His hard work and dedication paid off, and by the age of 16, he was playing drums professionally, receiving calls to perform at events across the United States.

Throughout his overseas touring, Jonathan emerged as a Musical Director (MD), becoming the youngest leader in the company abroad. Upon returning to the United States in 2014, he began teaching children how to play drums, inspiring them to stay organic and true to the music.

Shortly after returning home, Jonathan’s life changed when he joined Red Hands, a Stellar Award–nominated inspirational band that has touched countless lives worldwide through their music. He later went on to complete two seasons of NBC’s hit TV show Songland and subsequently toured with various artists.

Jonathan is widely recognized as a humble drummer and percussionist. When asked about his success, he gives all glory to God, stating,

“I believe that opportunities come from God, and with hard work, consistency,and patience, you will go far in life.”
